What was old is new again

From chants, prayers, and its accompanying silence, the "dead language" of Latin reverberated in the newly renovated sanctuary of St. Mary's Church in Norwalk, CT. What else reverberated? The sound of children. And not just because it was Palm Sunday. Because St. Mary's Parish, with its weekly Traditional Latin Mass, is packed with burgeoning families. Our family of five is miniscule in comparison, and in the minority.

Here the symbolism and tradition of the Extraordinary Form, the rituals of Palm Sunday, with its three-fold liturgy was celebrated with all its flourish, reverence and sonority.

If you're in the area- join the parish community for Tenebrae on Wednesday evening at 7-10 p.m., and the rest of the traditional Holy Week services. You will not be disappointed.
